What is ACC and how does it work?

ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) is a government-funded scheme that helps cover the cost of treatment for injuries caused by accidents in New Zealand. If you've been injured due to a fall, sports injury, car accident, or any sudden incident, you may be eligible for ACC support.

Do you accept ACC patients?

Yes, we do! Our clinic is ACC-registered and offers:

- Acupuncture treatment

- Physiotherapy

- Chiropractic / bone-setting therapy

All treatments are provided by licensed and experienced practitioners who are familiar with the ACC process.

How do I know if my injury is covered by ACC?

In general, injuries caused by a specific accident (e.g. slips, sprains, lifting injuries, car accidents) are covered by ACC. If you're unsure, feel free to contact us for an assessment. We can help determine whether your injury qualifies.

Can you help me apply for ACC?

Absolutely. If you don’t have an ACC number yet, our physiotherapists and chiropractors can help you lodge your ACC claim and begin treatment. We’ll guide you through the process step by step to make it easy and stress-free. Of course, you are also welcome to apply elsewhere and choose to receive treatment at our clinic — it’s completely your right.

Will ACC cover the full cost of treatment?

ACC will cover part of the treatment cost, and there is usually a small surcharge to be paid by the patient. For the services we provide, please refer to the pricing information on our website.

How long can I receive ACC treatment? Is there a session limit?

From the date of your injury, your ACC claim is valid for one year. Treatment limits depend on the type of therapy and the severity of your injury:

  1. Acupuncture – Up to 12 sessions, which expire three months after your first acupuncture treatment.

  2. Physiotherapy / Chiropractic – Up to 16 sessions.

Your treatment plan should be based on your injury and recovery progress. Please stay in close communication with your practitioner to ensure the best outcome and appropriate use of your sessions.

I don’t speak English well – can I still receive ACC treatment?

Yes, of course! We offer services in Chinese and can assist you with any paperwork or communication needed throughout your ACC journey. You're in safe hands with us.

If you speak another language, our practitioners are also happy to use translation tools to help explain and communicate with you clearly.
